Dear DHS Secretary Mayorkas:
We, the undersigned, are writing to convey our earnest request for the consideration of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Ecuadorian nationals.
Over the years, Ecuadorians have faced displacement due to severe political unrest, marked by significant turmoil and civil armed conflict. Designating TPS for Ecuador would grant its undocumented immigrant population access to work authorizations, thereby fostering increased economic support for our state.
The implementation of TPS would offer substantial and immediate relief to thousands who have become an integral part of our community fabric, have faced uncertainty and hardships, and TPS would provide them with a sense of security and stability, allowing them to continue contributing positively to the diversity of our society.
Ecuadorians are our neighbors, educators, construction workers, healthcare professionals, and other essential contributors. We firmly believe that granting TPS to Ecuador will not only benefit the individuals directly affected but will also contribute to the nation's economic strength by putting people to work.
In alignment with the requests made by Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa, New York Representative Adriano Espaillat, and various others, we urge you to take decisive action in providing immigration relief and work authorization through TPS for Ecuadorians. We anticipate your response and appreciate your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
